Added Weather Sensitivity.

July 6, 2015 at 3:33 am #268877AnonymousInactiveAdded the Weather Susceptibility Flaw. With both it and the Weather Sensitivity I’m working off the limited information available in the mod “A Dance Amidst the Bones” mod. Not sure what else there is, but this is what I’ve been working with:
TN 10: The Black Wind, a brief squall identified by a strange purple hue and thick oily rain drops. Where this storm hits, the bones of any who have perished in the area rise up and strike out at the living (Any Hero who has played A2HP7 Words of the Seer will know this one automatically from experience).
TN 15: Red Snow, a snowstorm of bright blood-red snowflakes. Direct exposure to the snow is highly painful. The snow leaves behind a slick crimson residue for up to a day after the blizzard is complete.
TN 20: The Lament, a tragic song carried on the wind that only dwarves can hear. Those who hear it end up being drawn away from any non-dwarven traveling companions to follow the sound and are often lost, never to be seen again.
TN 25: Saluwé’s Caress, a relatively benign phenomenon of light rain that causes plants to grow rapidly, regardless of environment. After the rain subsides, the plants die quickly, but for a brief period of time a part of the Pricklespur, the Vastwood, or the Luphyx forest lives and thrives within the Blessed Lands.
TN 30: Chaos storms, so called for their effects as much as their inconsistencies. These storms come in many forms (rain, snow, fog, lightning storms), and produce many different effects. Their only commonality is that anyone who survives one comes out changed in blatant or subtle ways. Thankfully these storms are extremely rare, no more than one or two every year, and shelters of stone have proven a viable defense against them. With a sweep of his hat,
Paul

July 6, 2015 at 11:14 am #268880AnonymousInactiveDoes it make more sense to move the discussions back to the boards from Dropbox? I’m fine to help transfer the info if that makes more sense.

July 6, 2015 at 1:57 pm #268882AnonymousInactiveIf the 4 pantheonistic spells I proposed are included with the deities listed, I think the remaining two spells should cover the following gods:
Beltine
Hurrian
Neroth
SarishGiven the desire to make more unusual combinations my recommendations would be to pair Hurrian and Neroth & Beltine and Sarish.
For the Hurrian / Neroth combo, something like Undying Defense where the caster can reanimate fallen comrades to continue the fight past death. Rough idea is that the caster sacrifices wounds and stamina to restore the fallen and that as long as the spell is active, they cannot be healed. When the spell ends, they can be healed but are not regained automatically.
For Beltine and Sarish a spell that pulls on blood / stamina of the caster or perhaps adapted for another target that grants a form of blood to a spirit removing the incorporeal trait but granting Natural AR 3 or 4.

July 6, 2015 at 2:08 pm #268883AnonymousInactiveIdeas for–if nothing else–names for the other two spells:
Grey Rain (Hurrian/Beltine)
Rotten Blood (Neroth/Sarish)If nobody gets to them before I do, I’ll work on it when I have some time today.

You’d have to modify the wording of the spell as “reanimate” implies they are undead, which is a rather permanent status. Also, the sacrifice of Wounds to keep people up seems a bit like a Sarishan thing (Blood Magic) to me, so I’m not 100% sold on it myself.

This could be good. I can also see this as a good nerothian/Beltinian spell as Neroth is the God of the Body.
July 6, 2015 at 5:26 pm #268885AnonymousInactiveGive me a day or so. It is beginning of month…and I have a lot of state mandated Medicaid paperwork to do by the 5th business day…
July 6, 2015 at 6:56 pm #268887drafitParticipantSame here. I’m swamped with my real work.
I’ll get to this as soon as I can.
July 6, 2015 at 7:28 pm #268888AnonymousInactiveDiscussing this with Paul: We’ll fiddle around with them for another week and I suggest we compile what we have into a single document to 1) check for page/word count, and 2) have it in a single place for Henry to give a yay/nay vote.
I also suggest that we meet up again via Chat at some point this month to iron things out more, but if we can’t we still have the forums and comments/messages on the Dropbox itself.
July 6, 2015 at 11:01 pm #268890AnonymousInactiveAdded a pass over the Forsaken background. It is still a work in progress (wrote it up just before leaving work), but posted what I have to see if people think I’m going in the correct area with this. The talent I wrote up seems more like a flaw to me and I’d appreciate feedback.

July 9, 2015 at 1:52 am #268944AnonymousInactiveOkay, so I’m trying to catch up where I can and I think that because I missed the online meeting a couple weeks ago, I’m out of the loop. Apparently we’re making updates to files in the DropBox folder, “Blessed Lands Rules Project” instead of posting all this stuff to this forum. And I think that a lot of this was covered in discussion at the meeting. We appear to be submitting original ideas for Talents, Spells, Backgrounds, etc? Am I correct so far? And am I missing anything important?
Scott
p.s. Sorry for needing the hand-holding.July 9, 2015 at 2:00 am #268945AnonymousInactiveAt the meeting we discussed what we thought should go into the book, which is summerized in the first post of this thread. We have since been knocking off them all individually which we are posting in the dropbox. If you have comments, please leave comments in the document posted on the dropbox (seen in the review tab of Microsoft Word). If you wish to provide a new, updated version with a higher version number (1.0, 1.2, 2.100000, etc).
