One of the first things that struck me upon looking at the map was all the cool locations that can now pop up in mods.
No need to wait! At GenCon during a runnning of Henry’s newest HP the table was having diffculty getting info. They were asking the right questions, but to the completely wrong people. So, I had their investigation lead to Dark Treasures
Like the racetrack (hippodrome)
Speaking of the Circus Septimus, how would you like to be one of the plebes who got nosebleed seats in the SW corner of that monster? You look over the edge, and you are staring all the way down to the base of the Plateau of Dagha!!!
On a related note is it possible to print this map out in a large enough format for framing or hanging on a wall without losing detail or resolution?
I have an unfinished room in my house that I want to turn into a medieval pub/gaming room. This map makes me want to finish that room asap and do exactly that. If it would be cost-effective for PCI to have large prints made, it would totally be a “shut up and take my money!” situation.

Yeah I noticed that. Might be an interesting way to get rid of someone…sir they slipped and fell off…

Darn makes me want to go there and have a mini-con at your house Matt. First chance I get I’m going to take the file to Staples and see how big a print I can make.
BTW are those Ludii gladiator schools?
August 29, 2015 at 2:01 pm #269521drafitParticipantHello everyone,
I’m glad everyone is enjoying the map. I think we can all agree that Andy Law outdid himself with this one!
We are looking into pricing the cost of producing unfolded poster size maps suitable for pinning up on a wall. Thus far the pricing looks very reasonable, though the mailing tubes are (thus far) a bit expensive.
There were five player owned businesses unlocked during the Kickstarter. Matt has identified four. The fifth is “The Wandering Eye” (#57) a Sarishan comfort house (i.e. a brothel).

I am assuming so, but that is a Henry question. I have been trying to figure out the roots of their names. My guess is they are ludii ascribed to certain families, as opposed to being named after some distinctive gladiatorial style. Otherwise, the closest I have been able to find would make the Ludus Carnatae the “School of Obesity” and the Ludus Polyceti the “School of Many Big Fish”

Am I the only one who finds the concept of a Sarishan brothel terrifying on multiple levels?
August 29, 2015 at 2:49 pm #269525drafitParticipantHello,

Yes they are. Run by two very competitive Coryani families that left the Empire for different reasons.
August 29, 2015 at 4:32 pm #269530AnonymousInactiveI assume these locations posted on the map get detailed somewhat in the Blessed Lands book? I’m still beating the drum to get a home game going around here and the books details might help. Thanks in advance for any info in that regard.
PS I am more disturbed by the fact that the “Ansharan Gates” are in the Uncleansed area that the Sarishan brothel when it comes down to it. Imagine what could happen if the denizens of the area learn how to use then. Henry would never do that…..nah…yeah right…

Why are you putting it in the future tense? They may already be doing that.

They would never be able to that unless they were Ansharan, so I wouldn’t worry. . . unless they are also Ssethric. . . or Issori. . . or possibly related to the Celestial Giants. . . or the Eladru. . .
Also, who says they aren’t in use right now? The Legion of Grim Lamentations has to be based from somewhere, no?

Just a thought for you Henry, I recently backed a kickstarter with similarly talented artists, and they found a company who could print directly onto canvas, which makes for a really cool wall hanging. I’m not sure what the price difference would be for printing, but the canvas can simply be folded and placed in an envelope for shipping…might be cheaper in the long run.

We’ve looked at printing on cloth as well, but we’d have to charge over $50 a print, which I don’t believe many would find palatable.

I know I am probably in the minority an that I have an Arcanis addiction that probably needs a 12 step program….but *raises hand* palatable!
August 29, 2015 at 10:23 pm #269537AnonymousInactiveI’d also pay $50 for a map like that.

There’s a zoom box on the map just above the palace that shouldn’t be visible.
