There has been no reference to any Ghost Scales who do not worship the Herka.
Well, there is a reference to those who converted to the Church of “Become Crazy Infernal Beings”, but that is it.

Burn the Heretic! (Although he might like that, being Fire Dragon…)
January 21, 2014 at 10:29 pm #255537AnonymousInactiveYeah, but his Ghost Scale only converted after getting burned by Fire Dragon Channeling one too many times, so I think we can safely consider it under duress
January 21, 2014 at 10:30 pm #255539AnonymousInactiveThat makes it worse, and shows a lack of moral fibre in his mental diet.
Admittedly, my Ghost Scale took Mentally Weak as a flaw, so he’s not the brightest Huge tank in the box (working through HP1-14 currently, but only managed to hit minions for stupid amounts of damage. Missed the non-minion on my only swing so far).

Moments like this make me wonder why there is not a heretic or taboo flaw that is only applied when you build a character that made a socially unacceptable choice, such as an elorii worshipping human gods, or according to fluff a female Black Talon ss’ressen worshiping Jeggal Sag.

There is a Heretic flaw in the Codex of Heroes. “Effect: Nominate the church or religion that considers you a heretic. If you are ever caught by the authorities of that religion, you are quickly arrested and slowly put to death.”
This one is in effect for any character who fits the bill at or after character creation. There’s no limit on how many flaws a character can have, just how many they get a benefit for.
With a sweep of his hat,
Paul

It is not heresy for a female to worship Jeggal Sag. The clergy of Jeggal Sag is primarily male, but that does not mean they ban females in any way. Hell, it is the MALE devotees of Jeggal Sag who are closer to a heresy, because Ss’ressen religion has always been matriarchal, so having male ‘priests’ is the bigger heresy in the eyes of the Black Talons.

Yup, and Ni’Sal has that flaw. I even tried to play it up and get myself into trouble at ArcanisCon last year when we were escorting that priest into the city. We bypassed the encounter at the gates by going in through the sewers. Unfortunately, the GM kinda dropped the ball with regard to making me suffer the consequences of that decision.
