Looking into it, I dont like the martial techniques change the way its worded now, frankly there isnt something for everybody at every tier. I think that the limites put in place by the tiering for techniques and the very limited amounts of talents that non martials have to spend is sufficient.
March 15, 2014 at 11:33 pm #259289AnonymousInactiveI don’t think this should be added to Martial Techniques but if you do, here’s a wording for it.
Requirements: Weapon Training (any) (ta), additional requirements as listed under the individual Technique. If you are learning a Martial Technique of Tier II or greater, you must already know at least 1 Martial Technique of the previous Tier.
For Vals:
Added in the Requirements section of Talents (and perhaps at the start of the Bloodline Talents section)
When learning Bloodline Talents that have a requirement of Tier II or higher, you must already possess at least 1 Bloodline Talent within the same Bloodline of the previous Tier.

I don’t think it needs any help unlike Arcane and Divine, but this would definitely make someone think twice before going Combat only Expert, which is good. I just feel like it’s going to become talent tax for people. Experts will probably abandon hopes of getting higher level maneuvers and go for pay off combat talents instead.
March 16, 2014 at 2:07 am #259311AnonymousInactiveI don’t know of many “Combat only experts”. Experts generally choose experts to mix and match a few different things. No expert ever expects to have the diversity of a martial character in combat talents, but this definitely makes it that much more difficult. I think it potentially hurts Arcane/Divine characters more who wanted a few combat talents to shore up their non-spell actions.

Also, I know Martial Characters that are going to have to eat a few advancements because of this a well.

How so? if anyone is going to have a Marshal Technique per tier, its them..
If they don’t.. they’r doing it wrong.
March 16, 2014 at 2:32 am #259317AnonymousInactiveThere are other ways to get martial techniques in Tier I at least so that eases up the pain. Still don’t like the change, but I understand the rationale behind it. I think there just need to be more ‘clear paths’ in the Tiered martial techniques.

If they don’t.. they’r doing it wrong.Because they could be using that advancement for an any talent instead. And because literally, Brandy’s Tal Kanath has no interest in the Tier 3 or 4 maneuvers.
March 16, 2014 at 7:29 pm #259398AnonymousInactiveevidently delbert is doing it wrong, because i dont find enough of the tier two triks to be important enough to spend an advancement on

So you cant see 1? you know when you “pick two talents” one can be a combat maneuver…
Also… no one said you had two take two tier 1 maneuvers.. you can take a tier 1 and a tier 2…
March 16, 2014 at 8:01 pm #259405AnonymousInactiveAnyways, I support your decision to keep this errata if so inclined. But you need to print more maneuvers.

Likewise. I just think it’s a rather ‘big change’ to be burying inside the new errata document since until now there’s never been any indication that was the intent.
