Cody what type of character would be best suited to play “Thief in the Library?” In other words the mod means more to what type of character.
November 14, 2015 at 9:49 pm #270301AnonymousInactiveAn Altherian? An Altherian scholar? The module should be fairly well suited to any type of character.
November 15, 2015 at 12:26 pm #270304AnonymousInactiveThanks Akira. I just want to be sure I don’t end up being the proverbial square peg in a round hole. Like my Beltinian won’t set foot in Canceri for obvious reasons and my dark-kin Legionnaire will not go to Tir Betoq, that sort of thing. Some mods are just more enjoyable with the right sort of character at the table. That’s all I’m saying.

Actually now that I think of it I’ll probably dust off my Undir elementalist, bard wannabe and play him. He’s more likely to be running around down south than any of my other characters at the moment. He’s a 1.6 so he should be able to play this. And he’s the closest thing I have to a scholar.
November 15, 2015 at 6:43 pm #270311AnonymousInactiveThis sounds like the perfect mod for a large sized, illiterate Agamassi! Of course, it will need to be renamed “Bull in a China Shop”.
*inadvertant tail swipe knocks over another tall bookshelf…librarians cry….”Sssorry”*
November 15, 2015 at 6:53 pm #270312AnonymousInactiveYeah, I suspect that Agamassi would present some unique problems in the Grand Library…I won’t lie, I kinda want to GM that table
November 15, 2015 at 6:55 pm #270313AnonymousInactiveMatt can I be at your table…I just got to see this! Although to be honest in Arcanis actions have consequences, I can’t imagine an Agamassi getting within rifle range of any Altherian city. I imagine your character would get gunned down just walking up to the gate. It’s like the idiot who tried to bring and undead companion into Mitrik in Living Greyhawk/Veluna (it was an LG theocracy at war with an undead army at the time). GM had the city guard destroy the abomination and the campaign staff backed him up. So I have to ask in the end where can you play the BHS (big honkin’ SS’Ressen) without causing a huge stink? I guess any place but Altheria and the Elorii enclaves but there’d be some tense moments everywhere else.
Still if there’s a way to get the big guy in that mod I’d really love to see it.
Oh I second Akira, I wouldn’t mind GMing that table it could be hilarious! Playing it would be just as fun as well. By the way what are the might and prowess stats for your character Matt?
November 16, 2015 at 1:33 am #270320AnonymousInactiveI think he has a Might of 9 or 10 and a Prowess of 7.
They wouldn’t shoot me outright….I am a famous gladiator! They don’t shoot celebrities, do they? (Crosses fingers)
November 16, 2015 at 3:16 am #270321AnonymousInactiveThey’re Altherians…of course they shoot lizards….even more so the big ones. Actually in your case they might break out the cannons…
Darn it right now my martial character only has a might of 7 and a prowess of 7, which will be raised to 8s when she gets into Tier 2. She’d think about getting in the ring with you , but she’s not stupid so probably not…Ursula doesn’t have that much of a death wish…

Shoot a famous gladiator? What a waste! You put him in the Pit to fight the condemned, the undead and the toughest monster you can find (aside from an Agamassi).
November 16, 2015 at 3:20 am #270323AnonymousInactiveAgain we’re talking Altherians here…they have serious hate for scalykind. And I don’t think they’ll let him close enough to tell he the famous gladiator. “Volley Fire!!” Boom!!!
Now if he’s in a party that will vouch for him…but expect those folks to get some serious stinkeye cast on them…
November 19, 2015 at 7:28 pm #270347AnonymousInactiveWell due to issues beyond my control, heather and I will not be at Ucon this year. Something has come up and we need to be in saint louis to help a friend out. I will be nagging everyone at arcaniscon in march, good luck you guys.

November 24, 2015 at 7:20 pm #270386AnonymousInactiveIt was great to see so many friends at U-Con. Thanks to the GMs and players for a good time and kudos to the module authors. There were some pretty amazing moments, a few of which still have me reeling.
Upon reading the adventures we played, it looks like we misunderstood the rules for the “scroll market” in one adventure. The module is pretty explicit about what can be purchased there, and we should not be able to buy any magic spell scrolls there.
