Obviously someone “set” the weapon in the vault without a scabbard or sheath and they weren’t cursed, so there was a way to handle it that shouldn’t curse.

Or the First Imperium had a Golem or construct (or something else that wasn’t intelligent) carry it in the same way we use bomb-disposal robots. . .

I’m pretty sure you can’t transfer the runes from the rings/ cursed items

    Affirmative, Good Sir.

After a good search of the books, I couldn’t find this anywhere. Is this something that should be added to the upcoming errata? It seems logical but I can see it the other way too, so without any rules actually forbidding it, I would think it is currently legal by the text o fthe books – and thus would suggest it gets put in the errata.

After conferring with Tony, it will be listed on the cert. Cursed items can have runes added to them (which then become part of them and cannot be removed), but they cannot have any taken away.

Glad this was discussed before the certs went out. Somehow methinks it wasn’t already on the cert… \":)\" I still think that getting it into the rules somewhere that runes can’t be removed from cursed items is a good idea.

I think the issue has less to do with the Curses and more to do with them being Awakened. After all, if they are conscious items, they won’t ALLOW you to remove their runes in the same way you wouldn’t (necessarily) allow someone to remove your arm.

Are they all awakened? And I’m planning to keep my lyre to strengthen my character.

You know, Kevin, conversion to the Temple of Cadic might just negate some of those Flaws (just sayin’).

I feel bad for the elorii character who got stuck with Tyrfang though. She only had it in a box and was essentially carrying it out for the party/ES. She never wanted it or tried to wield it.I think you may be misinformed. One of the players at my table got Tyrfang. She’s not an Elorii. And she clearly said that she was taking it. (No special precautions taken.)

I think my table had a good time. I thought the event went over very well. And I’m curious to see what the big picture looks like once all of the little pieces are put together.

No a Tyrfang went out at the table I judged as well. To an elorii staff fighter who was essentially just carrying it to bring it up.

Couple things. did anyone besides me get the lyre? and i’m not to sure i would have picked it up and had i known it was clearly broken.

As my primary character plays the lyre, can you share details on it?

    Thanks!

With a sweep of his hat,

    Paul

Lyre: This lyre was once a finely crafted instrument, but now all its strings have been cut. Anyone who picks it up feels an overwhelming desire to repair it. (This Legendary lyre, named Curse Bearer, grants both +3 to Perform (Playing an Instrument – Lyre) and the ability to cast Bestow Curse, using Perform (Playing an Instrument – Lyre) instead of Arcanum as the affecting skill. If the curse is not sung and a proper caveat included, the caster of the curse will suffer the same effect as they are putting on their victim. Furthermore, if the caster abuses this power (uses it twice or more in a single scene), they will immediately be afflicted by the Black Tongue spell. Finally, the bearer of this lyre gains Oblivious, and Marked Man: Temple of Cadic as a Flaw. This is a Cursed item, and cannot be removed in any normal way once put on.) Repairing the lyre costs 2gc for new strings of sufficient quality.
A Knowledge: (Myths and Legends) (Lo) (TN: 25) allows a Hero to remember a tale of Zantumal the Cursed, a minstrel of ages past whose life was plagued with misfortune due to a terrible temper. Every time he got angry, horrible things would happen to those around him as well as himself.

The only upside to the lyre is the +3 from it being Legendary. I can’t think anyone will have a high enough perform to use it offensively. An additional flaw to it is that it effects you if you get angry I believe.
