    Probably \":)\"

On that note, I hope we are years away from 2nd edition. I think we could do with a “1.5 Rules Update” document but I don’t want a 2nd edition anytime soon.

I actually think a “1.5 Rules Update” will go over very well if it:
    1) Keeps the core of the system intact
    2) Clarifies/Cleans up Character Building (Let’s face it, people rebuild their characters every now and again anyways, so this isn’t just going to be used for new characters/players)
    3) Has Full Reprints of those rules that change (Talents, Spells, Maneuvers, Skills, etc.)
    4) Clearly defines the purpose of the document to bring together all the errata and changes needed after 3 years of play.
    5) Sold for around $5-$10 max for PDF.

all of those are my goals BTW.. I’m working on a “my intent” post which I was holding off on until after the Errata is finalized

that last one.. #5… ya.. the player base will have zero issue with what we have planned

The 1.5 Rules Update document I’m envisioning has ‘full re-writes’ of some things (like Continued Training and other “Training” Talents that are considered too weak) as well as the new improved character generation rules.

JohnWith continued Training who would need those other Training Talents?

Well I think new Training Talents would need to be created that are also desirable to the point of making it an actual choice.

They did it with Stances. Previously there weren’t many to choose from but then Fighting Styles came in and it’s a real choice between Fighting Style or Stance.

Then it needs to stay a choice in step 1 of character creation and probably offer another benefit.

I think a metal action skill roll is appropriate but it should have a penalty the more money is offered..

for example +1 TN for every 1gp, and it should be against the heroes Discipline.

1 TN is awfully small for 1 gp

You thought targeting their own Discipline was hard without the penalty, and now a penalty of -1 / 1GP isn’t enough?

I’m reminded now of the mod with the ‘bribe’ of 25gp, anyone with corruption was auto-doomed.

Mettle Vs your own Discipline seems to be a bad mechanic to me, the check gets harder the better your defenses get? that seems to be the opposite of whats desired really

I didnt say it was hard, I said it was a bad mechanic

I agree with that it’s a bad mechanic to fight your own discipline. There is precident for it in another flaw though I believe.

More importantly, when can I bribe someone?

Example – At the end of the mod where you are taking the old Illiirite to turn in his holy symbol. If there is a party member in the group with corrupt, can I pay them to help me kill him?

Example – We find loot that I want, can I pay another player not to want it?

Example – Elements of Faith, can I pay a party member to harm Elorii/Milandisian relations? Even after fighting the Voluri?

Example – You come across the Tear of Larissa’s Laments, can a pay a player who full well wants to give it to his church or people to destroy it instead?
