making a roll against your own defense is a bad mechanic, because that represents you attacking your own defenses, yeah the numbers might be similar but what those numbers represent still has a meaning.

A more realistic check would be a Resolve TN 20 check (and NOT a mettle check)

I’m good with the Resolve check…. to be honest I like it a lot more then the metal

Resolve is a bad choice as it’s an Attribute and you add nothing to the roll.

Mettle is defined as: Mettle is your ability to remain mentally focused, and keeping your wits about you through even the most trying of conditions.

A Mettle: Stand Firm seems a *very* appropriate skill to roll for this (and is based on Resolve).

Not sure why you’d make it an Attribute Roll with no bonuses.

look at visions of lives past for another resolve roll.

its supposed to be a flaw, its not supposed to be maintainable

    OK…

A hero may attempt to resist the bribe by preforming a Challenging Resolve Action Roll (TN: 20). A bonus or penalty to this roll may be applied depending upon the size of the bribe. The base price of a bribe is 1 GP / Hero Tier. Commonly, there is a -1 penalty to the Mettle roll for every 50 sp above the base bribe, and a +1 bonus to the Mettle roll for every 50 sp below the base bribe, as smaller bribes may be perceived as an insult.

i removed the word mettle from the text, and I personally think that 1 gp isnt too much much either way (but im not vested in that opinion)

A d8 Resolve fails 80% of the time with no mods.
A d10 Resolve fails 72% of the time.

    Just providing numbers. Carry on.

    ok guys..

I’m going to leave it the way it is now (resolve) and we will see how the player base responds..

BTW, I’m thinking of adding a fate use to resist a flaw…
